The Institution of Permanent Way Engineers is associated with the University of Delhi. The college provides a Diploma program in Railway Engineering. The institution’s objective is to promote the sharing and exchange of technical knowledge regarding the design, construction, and maintenance of bridges and other constructions among its members. In order to achieve this objective, the institution actively encourages and organizes seminars, lectures, discussions and other events for the purpose of informing and benefiting its members. The institution also shares technical information to foster idea exchange.

About IPWE
The Institution of Permanent Way Engineers (India) is a technical organisation established under the authority of the Railway Ministry. Its purpose is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise among Railway Engineers involved in the construction and maintenance of railway tracks, bridges, and other structures. The Institution was established on May 18, 1967, with its Headquarters located in Pune. It was later officially registered as a Public Trust Office in Pune on July 28, 1972.

About us
The Institution of Permanent Way Engineers (India) Correspondence Course in Railway Engineering consists of two six-month semesters. This course improves candidates’ railway engineering skills and introduces them to Indian Railways. Contact classes in New Delhi last one week in October/November after admissions in June/July.
Candidates receive books by mail for both semesters. The Institution’s website offers e-learning modules so students can access study material with a click.
