Today's Google Search Console Report Shows Minimal Data: What's Happening?"
The performance report in Google Search Console seems to be faulty because it shows almost no data for today. I can make this happen on several Search Console properties, so Search Console might be having trouble right now.
That’s right, I’ve seen a few concerns on X and this site, so you’re not the only one. That you can take a deep breath and know that this seems to be affecting everyone.
As a side note, Google now seems to only show data for today by default. Since it’s still early in the morning, this may not be a “bug” but rather a “feature” where Google is showing the data it has seen so far today.
This doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the unconfirmed ranking change on Google Search from this weekend.
For some of the Search Console profiles I can see, this is what I see:
If you’re seeing this, know that you are not the only one. Check out the some of the tweets
Google Search Console showing 0 clicks on the latest day, which is today. Seeing this on many properties.@danielwaisberg this a bug?

Every single Google Search Console Performance Report I have access to looks like this at the moment. Is there a bug going on? 👀

Recently, many users noticed that Google Search Console’s performance report is displaying limited data, with almost no insights available for the day. This unusual behavior sparked discussions across platforms, including Mastodon, where Frank Sandtmann speculated it could be a “feature,” possibly reflecting a shift toward more real-time data reporting. By default, the console now shows today’s data, which some users initially interpreted as a new functionality.
However, Google has not officially commented on the matter. The issue was brought up in various forums, including X (formerly Twitter), where users shared their experiences and theories. This sparked further conversation, as Google Search Console has been a reliable tool for webmasters and SEOs to monitor site performance on a daily basis.

Update: Google’s John Mueller responded to the ongoing discussions on LinkedIn, confirming that this is, in fact, a bug. In his post, Mueller clarified, “It’s an issue on our side – the team is looking into it. Thanks to everyone for noticing & letting us know; this wasn’t meant to replace your traditional morning wake-up beverage :-).”
With the acknowledgment from Google, it’s clear the data display is unintended, and the team is working on resolving it. In the meantime, users can stay tuned for updates as the issue is being addressed.
